Sky Sports: Player tells Eddie Howe he wants to leave Newcastle United after exit talks

It looks like Martin Dubravka is now pushing to seal a late move to Manchester United before next Thursday's 11pm deadline.

Sky Sports have revealed that the Slovakian has now told Eddie Howe that he wants to leave for Old Trafford after talks between the two clubs.

Sky Sports' Dharmesh Sheth states that Man Utd want a loan with an option of a permanent deal dependant on appearances, but Toon chiefs are insisting on a permanent deal - or at least a loan which includes an obligation to buy the 33-year-old next summer.

Some have questioned why he'd leave Newcastle - where he is currently the back-up option to Nick Pope - to sit on the bench in Manchester behind David De Gea, although this latest update suggests he fancies his chances with the Red Devils after falling down the pecking order on Tyneside.

Dubravka was left out of our squad for Wednesday night's 2-1 win over Tranmere in the Carabao Cup and appears likely to sit out tomorrow's trip to Wolves following today's news that he wants out.
