Chris Sutton predicts Wolves vs Newcastle ahead of 2pm kick-off at Molineux

In the build up to our game at Molineux, BT Sport pundit and former Premier League winner Chris Sutton has predicted Newcastle to come away with all three points in a 2-1 victory over Wolves.

The ex-Blackburn Rovers striker claimed that the Magpies were ‘absolutely brilliant’ in our 3-3 draw against Man City last Sunday, where Allan Saint-Maximin put in a dazzling performance in a side that attacked with 'real confidence.'

On Bruno Lage’s team, the 49-year-old has little confidence in their ability to put the ball in the back of the net - in their first three Premier League games, Wolves have only managed one goal compared to Newcastle’s five. 

In his prediction for the BBC, Sutton said:

“Wolves just don't score. They create numerous opportunities and have some talented players, I don't know how long we have said this about them but it is just that finishing touch.

“Because of that, I think they might come a cropper against Newcastle, who were absolutely brilliant against Manchester City in the 3-3 draw at St James' Park last weekend.

“The way they played, the way they got bodies forward and the way they attacked with real confidence, I am going to go for Newcastle.”

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

However, despite our excellent performance against the champions, we will head to Wolverhampton without our number nine, Callum Wilson, who is out with a hamstring injury, so it will be different kind of challenge. 

Last season, the points were shared between the two sides as we both recorded victories at home, but in five of our last seven meetings the result has been a 1-1 draw - so expect another tightly contested game.
