Crystal Palace launch £27m bid for Newcastle target as two clubs make late moves - Reports

by Olly Hawkins ·

It's been widely reported over the past few weeks that Eddie Howe is pushing to sign Chelsea's Conor Gallagher on loan.

However, The Times have revealed that Crystal Palace have now launched a bid in the region of £27m for the midfielder.

Gallagher spent the 2021/22 season at Selhurst Park, bagging eight goals and five assists during an impressive spell with the Eagles.

The Athletic's David Ornstein revealed this morning that he - along with fellow loan target Christian Pulisic - look set to stay at Stamford Bridge this summer unless the Blues receive a bid that is "too good to refuse", so it'll be interesting to see how Blues chiefs respond to this £27m bid from Palace.

Elsewhere, Sky Sports have revealed that Bayer Leverkusen have now agreed a season-long loan deal with Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the move being resurrected over the past 24 hours after it almost collapsed due to the Bundesliga side insisting on an option to buy.

So, it seems we may need to act quickly if we wish to bring Gallagher to Tyneside, with us still in the market for a couple of new players ahead of Thursday's 11pm deadline.
