Howe confirms new injury "worry" ahead of Liverpool - 7 ruled out & Isak deadline revealed

Injuries are starting to pile up at Newcastle United, as Eddie Howe has revealed that Allan Saint-Maximin is nursing a new hamstring problem.

He claims that the Frenchman is the latest "worry" ahead of tomorrow's trip to Liverpool, having felt his hamstring after sprinting back to save a goal late in the game at Wolves.

Elsewhere, Newcastle have STILL not received Alexander Isak's work permit, with Howe revealing that it "could go down to the wire", as the cut-off is 75 minutes before kick-off.

The good news is that Kieran Trippier "should be fine", but a minor hamstring issue for Bruno Guimaraes means he will be forced to sit this one out alongside Jonjo Shelvey (hamstring), Emil Krafth (ACL) and Kell Watts (knee).

Callum Wilson remains out with a hamstring issue of his own, while Martin Dubravka is expected to be missing once again as he closes in on a move to Manchester United.

Here's what Howe's had to say on all of the above when speaking to the press this morning:

Howe on Isak:

"I still don't know. I desperately hope so - it'd be great to see him involved. We're in the hands of other people so we hope it gets done before the game. The cut off is 75 minutes before kick-off so it could go down to the wire."

Howe on Guimaraes:

"He's doing well. I don't know about this game coming up but, hopefully, not far after if he doesn't make this game. He's very positive, in good spirits, and desperate to get back involved. He's a big player for us. We need to get him back as quickly as possible."

Howe on Saint-Maximin and Trippier:

"Maxi is a worry for us at the moment with a hamstring. It was late in the game off the back of a sprint to try and save a goal. Kieran Trippier should be fine."

Howe on Krafth:

"It's an ACL injury. He's not been operated on yet so it's difficult to give a firm date but it's going to be six to nine months. A long time out which is a huge blow to us."
