Alexander Isak is FINALLY ready to make his first appearance for Newcastle United.

As revealed in the last few moments by The Times' Martin Hardy, the Home Office have now issued a visa for the Swedish striker in time for tonight's trip to Liverpool.

The 22-year-old missed our 1-1 draw at Wolves on Sunday after failing to receive international clearance in time, however he's now received a work permit and is eligible to play at Anfield.

Howe admitted in his press conference yesterday that it was out of our control and set to go down to the wire today, with him needing to receive his visa by 6.45pm (75 minutes before kick off).

With Callum Wilson, Allan Saint-Maximin and Bruno Guimaraes all rued out with hamstring injuries, it's a welcome boost to hear our new £58m man will be in the squad - although it remains to be seen if he'll start after a few days training and the uncertainty leading up to kick off.
