Brazilian winger emerges as late target for Newcastle as Toon launch loan enquiry - Report

by Olly Hawkins ·

According to new reports, Newcastle United are now exploring the possibility of bringing Tottenham's Lucas Moura to St James' Park.

This comes via Football Insider, who report that we've launched an enquiry about a potential loan move for the Brazilian winger.

The 30-year-old has slipped down the pecking order under Antonio Conte this summer, with recent moves for Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison seeing his game time suffer.

He's failed to start in any of their four Premier League games this season, playing just 12 minutes of football from the bench before being left out of their matchday squad for last night's draw at West Ham and the win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The former PSG star has been involved in 65 goals in 204 appearances for Spurs, bagging six goals and eight assists in all competitions last season.

It would be a short-term fix, but with his Premier League experience and ability to play anywhere across the front three, it's easy to see why this move would appeal should Conte allow him to leave on loan.
