Howe to make triple change with one surprise? - Predicted Newcastle side to face Crystal Palace

With kick off at St James' Park just a few hours away, it's time to predict what side Eddie Howe will select for today's clash with Crystal Palace.

Keeping injuries, rotation and recent form in mind, here's the starting 11 we're backing him to go with:

(4-3-3): Pope – Trippier, Schar, Botman, Targett – Joelinton, Longstaff, Anderson – Almiron, Isak, Fraser.

OUT: Lascelles, Burn, Willock? IN: Schar, Botman, Anderson?

Burn and Lascelles put in big displays at Anfield and don’t deserve to be ‘dropped’, but Schar and Botman will be fresh from a rest, performed well in our last home game and help get us on the front foot with their ability to play out from the back. For those reasons, I can see both coming back into Howe's XI.

In midfield, we haven’t got the luxury of making many changes, with no one arriving on deadline, Shelvey injured and Guimaraes unlikely to be risked. That said, Longstaff, Joelinton and Willock all looked knackered in the final stages at Liverpool – especially the latter.

Willock could be very useful against an athletic Palace side who have several strong runners, but he's started three games over the past 10 days and looked shattered on Wednesday. With that in mind, I am backing Elliot Anderson to come in for his first Premier League start. I could be wrong, but he seems ready to play, showing aggression, an eagerness to get on the ball and flashes of real quality in his cameos so far this season.

In attack, the same front three that caused problems against Liverpool look set to start, as Saint-Maximin seems likely to be protected given his history with hamstring issues. Hopefully Miggy and Fraser can cause havoc in this one and create chances for the ice cool Isak up top!
