NUFC star all but confirms he'll miss tomorrow's clash with Bournemouth during new interview

Allan Saint-Maximin appears to have given the game away ahead of tomorrow's clash with Bournemouth.

Eddie Howe was tight-lipped when asked if the Frenchman would be fit to face the Cherries when asked for an injury update this morning, but the player himself has all but confirmed Saturday's game will come too soon.

Speaking to NUFC TV after winning the Premier League's Goal of the Month award for August, the winger didn't speak like a man who'd be returning to action tomorrow, stating he must "wait" until he can be back with his team following a hamstring injury.

Here's what he had to say when asked how he's enjoying life at this new-look Newcastle United:

"It's so good. I feel great (at Newcastle).

"I just have to wait until I will be back to my team. I think we deserve more more points but there is no excuse.

"So we just need to keep working and I hope the team will win this weekend."

With these comments coming just a day before tomorrow's 3pm kick off, it seems his "wait" to return from a hamstring injury will extend over the international break, with our trip to Fulham in two weeks time likely to be the next time we'll see the 25-year-old in action.

In truth, this comes as no real surprise, as both The Mail's Craig Hope and Sky Sports' Keith Downie revealed earlier today that was a major doubt for Saturday's game at St James' Park.

Elsewhere, Callum Wilson (hamstring) is also expected to miss out, but Bruno Guimaraes (hamstring) could return to the squad before he heads away with Brazil.
