Paul Merson makes triple prediction ahead of Newcastle's trip to Fulham
After two weeks away thanks to the dreaded international break, Premier League football is finally back - and Paul Merson has been sharing his predictions.
The Sky Sports pundit believes our clash with Fulham will end in a 1-1 draw, although his money would be on Fulham if he had to pick a winner.
He's also backing this one to be a 'really good game', feeling both sides try to play the right way. He feels we often struggle without Allan Saint-Maximin - who was a big miss in that toothless draw against Bournemouth last time out - but believes Eddie Howe's Mags will be 'difficult to beat this season.'
Speaking to Sportskeeda, here's what Merson's had to say ahead of the game:
“This (Fulham v Newcastle) is going to be a really good game.
“I watched Newcastle in their previous game and I thought they struggled without Allan Saint-Maximin.
“I do like how Eddie Howe sets up his teams, however, and I think they’ll be difficult to beat this season.
“I’m impressed with the way Fulham have started their Premier League campaign – they always have a go at teams! Aleksandar Mitrovic seems to be scoring every week and if I had to go with someone here, I’d pick Fulham.
“Newcastle also have impressive players in their ranks, however, and a draw is a more probable outcome.
“Prediction: Fulham 1-1 Newcastle United.”
How do you see our trip to Craven Cottage panning out, folks?
