Alan Shearer picks £50m Toon target alongside NUFC star and issues Erling Haaland prediction
Alan Shearer believes Erling Haaland will break his record tally of 34 goals in a single Premier League campaign if he stays fit this season.
With an outrageous 14 goals in his opening nine games, the Man City striker is on course for a monster haul, and made it into Shearer's latest Team of the Week following his hat-trick in the Manchester derby on Sunday.
Elsewhere, our all-time top scorer named Miguel Almiron in his matchweek nine XI for his brilliant brace at Fulham, believing his stunning volley is an early contender for goal of the season.
Toon target James Maddison also featured in Shearer's Premier League TOTW after the attacking midfielder bagged two goals - one being an exquisite free kick - and an assist in Leicester's 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Monday.
Big Al said "Are you watching Gareth Southgate?" in response to Maddison's top class display, with many Mags on social media urging the club to make a new improved January bid for the £50m-rated star following his scintillating display.
