Club release brilliant Bruno Guimaraes interview as Brazilian makes Toon fans fall in love again
Newcastle United have released a great interview with Bruno Guimaraes after the midfielder put in a man-of-the-match performance - scoring twice - in our 5-1 win against Brentford.
The 24-year-old played a crucial role in our dominant victory and reiterated how ‘proud’ he was, not only of himself, but of the whole squad, insisting that he is so happy on Tyneside after one of the 'best days' of his life.
For someone who barely spoke a word of English when he joined from Lyon in January, Bruno has shown himself to be a class act both on and off the pitch, with a clip of his interview (see below) showing how well he's learnt the language.
As the Magpies now sit comfortably in the top half of the Premier League, the Brazilian international warned other teams that ‘this is just the beginning’ of a ‘revolution’ at St James' Park.
The midfielder also reminded us of how ‘important’ it was to win at home following a string of disappointing draws and has claimed they have ‘worked a lot this week’ in pressing high and forcing turnovers.
Here's a snippet of the brilliant interview itself, followed by what he had to say on Howe and Saturday's special occasion for him and his family:
“The gaffer had a lot of work to do with me. When I arrived he said ‘Bruno I’ve watched you play and you never score with your head. I’ll work with you and we will score with your head’ after this I’ve scored two headers so thanks to the gaffer!
"This was special. My whole family were in the stadium so it was important for me.
"I'm so grateful. It is one of the best days of my life. I always dreamed of this moment - and my dreams come true!
"It's nice. But it is just the beginning. It's so early to speak about it.
"We must think about it game by game. It is nice but we need to keep it going."
