Fabrizio Romano issues Bruno Guimaraes update after Chelsea rumours emerge

Fabrizio Romano insists that Newcastle's stance on Bruno Guimaraes remains unchanged, stating we have no intention of selling the Brazilian and plan to offer him a new 'long term contract' with an improved salary.

Yesterday, GOAL released a report stating that Chelsea were considering a January bid for the 24-year-old, with Potter keen to sign another midfielder after another injury to Ngolo Kante and doubts around Jorginho's future.

They added that Newcastle are readying a club-record contract offer to keep Bruno on Tyneside and Romano has revealed similar information, confirming our plans to extend his current deal to fend off interest.

It's believed 'many top clubs' are keen to sign the former Lyon star in 2023, however Newcastle are determined to tie him down to a new and improved deal.
