Former NUFC defender scores 30-yard screamer in 5-1 win out in Spain - Watch here
Former Newcastle defender Florián Lejeune scored a stunning free-kick from 30 yards on Saturday afternoon as his Rayo Vallecano side demolished Cadiz 5-1.
The stunning set-piece was the first of TWO goals for the 31-year-old, who departed the club for Alaves back in September 2020 and is currently on loan to Rayo Vallecano.
Despite a great start to his career on Tyneside, the Frenchman suffered a huge set-back when he sustained a serious knee injury and was cast aside by former manager Steve Bruce.
In a man-of-the-match performance, Lejeune fired a superb free-kick into the far corner to put the La Liga side 3-0 up and found the net again in the 89th minute to make it 4-1.

Regardless of his injuries or performances, the ex-Mag will go down in Toon history after he scored two goals in injury time (94th and 95th minutes) to rescue a point at Goodson Park back in January 2020.
