Newcastle believe Bruno Guimaraes will attract TWO more Brazilians to Tyneside - Report
According to Mark Douglas at iNews, Newcastle are hoping Bruno Guimaraes' rise to stardom will help them bring two more Brazilian targets to Tyneside in 2023.
He reveals that we are in talks with Santos about a 17-year-old wonderkid Angelo Gabriel and also keen to sign Vaso de Gama star Andrey Santos.
It's hoped that Bruno's instant impact on Tyneside can helped embed the club in the South American market, with his relationship on and off the field with Joelinton another appealing factor for Brazilian teenagers considering the move.
Douglas insists that reports suggesting we've agreed a £22m deal for Gabriel are 'understood to be premature', but he's believed to be a player of 'real interest.'
South American has been a hotspot for current head of recruitment Steve Nickson and it seems Dan Ashworth is ready to back our push for some of the world's best young talents, with our sporting director keen to find the 'next big thing' rather than spend huge sums on proven stars who've already reached their peak.
There will be exceptions, I'm sure, with Leicester's James Maddison and Brighton's Leandro Trossard linked once again today, but it's exciting to hear that Bruno's impact could tempt more Brazilian gems to join him and Joelinton at St James' Park.
