Toon officials travel to watch Ligue 1 star after summer talks - Club want over £30m - Report

by Olly Hawkins ·

According to new reports, Newcastle United scouts have been in France over the past fortnight watching Rennes winger Martin Terrier.

This comes from 90min, who claim that officials from several Premier League sides - including Newcastle, Arsenal, Man Utd and Aston Villa - have checked out the 25-year-old over the past two weeks following his outstanding run of form in Ligue 1.

Terrier has bagged 11 goals and four assists in all competitions this season, with this coming after he scored 21 times last term, along with seven assists.

Graeme Bailey claims that we held talks with Rennes over the summer about a potential move for the versatile winger who can also play up top, but no official bid followed.

However, it seems we are still keen on the former Lyon man and are unlikely to be deterred by Rennes' asking price, with 90min report that offers in excess of £30m will be considered.
