Howe responds to Callum Wilson rumours, passes 4 fit and rules 3 out of Southampton clash
Eddie Howe has offered an update on the fitness front ahead of Sunday's trip to Southampton, easing fears over Callum Wilson's availability.
Our number nine revealed that he's been unwell and "run down" on a recent podcast - sparking rumours that he could miss out - but Howe has confirmed this morning that the striker will be OK after picking up a "little cold."
Fabian Schar is also fine after recovering from a hamstring issue, while Allan Saint-Maximin and Jonjo Shelvey are back in contention after coming through cameos against Aston Villa and training all week.
That said, the manager's comments suggest Shelvey isn't ready to start just yet and could be protected from any unnecessary risk between now and the World Cup break.
Elsewhere, he's confirmed that Alexander Isak, Emil Krafth and Matt Ritchie remain out. Karl Darlow returned to training this week, but there was no sign of Paul Dummett; who's missed out on our last few squads.

Howe on Callum Wilson:
"Yeah, I think he’s OK. He’s had a little cold.
"It’s funny how everything gets around, especially if you do a podcast!
"Finger crossed, he’ll be OK.”
Howe on new issues, Allan Saint-Maximin and existing injuries:
“New problems? No.
“I think we’ve had, as we always do, a few bumps and bruises but nothing too bad.
“We’ve come through with Allan OK after his little cameo, so the strength of the group is slowly returning.
“Obviously, we have Emil (Krafth), Alex (Isak) and Matt Ritchie still out. Apart from that, I think we’re in a good place.”
Howe on Jonjo Shelvey:
"He'd probably say yes and he's certainly getting closer.
"This has been his second full week of training so he's in a better place but without that match exposure.
"We want to protect him and try to see him through to the break."
