Toon trio join £50m target in Alan Shearer’s Premier League Team of the Week

In what is becoming a common occurrence, three Newcastle players - Kieran Trippier, Joe Willock and Bruno Guimaraes - have all been included in Alan Shearer’s latest Premier League Team of the Week. 

The trio were crucial in scoring and creating goals in our 4-1 victory over Southampton and join January target James Maddison in the XI following his man of the match display at Everton on Saturday night.

Trippier has been England’s best defender so far this season and arguably one of the Premier League's most consistent performers this term, with his defensive work and superb assist for Willock’s goal summing up his quality on Sunday.

Bruno put in another all-action display in midfield, scoring his third goal of the season with a curling effort from outside the box and controlling the centre of the pitch all afternoon. 

To add to another great performance, Willock finally got his first goal of the season - something that has been long overdue as the 23-year-old has often gone under the radar this season despite being a key player for us in all 14 league games.
