Sky Sports: Howe handed double boost ahead of three games in 10 days as duo return to Tyneside

by Olly Hawkins ·

England duo Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson returned to Newcastle United training on Wednesday following a few weeks away at the World Cup.

Sky Sports' Keith Downie has confirmed that both took part in yesterday's session at our Benton training base, suggesting they could feature in next week's Carabao Cup clash with Bournemouth.

Nick Pope, Bruno Guimaraes and Fabian Schar have all been given some additional time off after representing their country in Qatar, but it's believed all three will be back 'very soon.'

Howe recently revealed that he'd treat each international player on a 'case by case' basis, yet it's great news to hear that Trippier and Wilson are already back on the grass, with a busy run of festive fixtures on the way.

We play Bournemouth at St James' Park on Tuesday (21st), face a Premier League trip to Leicester City on the 26th and a home clash with Leeds on New Years' Eve, followed by Arsenal away on January 3rd.
