Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi release joint statement to Newcastle United fans

Following our final game of 2022, co-owners Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi described the last 12 months as an ‘incredible journey’ and praised the ‘hard work, persistence and determination’ on social media. 

Newcastle ended the year in third place in the Premier League after an incredible run of form which has seen us lose just one game so far this season against Liverpool. 

Contrastingly, this time last year we were third bottom in the league and in the relegation zone with just two wins to our name and not a single victory away from home. 

Now, our future looks very bright and we can’t enter a transfer window with optimism and hope that we can attract quality players to help us in our European push. 

Both Staveley and Ghodoussi have performed wonders for the club in the last 12 months helping to improve the first team, increase the standard and exposure of the women’s team and unite the club with the city once again.
