NUFC duo on the brink of a ban ahead of Premier League games against Arsenal & Fulham
Despite all the noise on social media, Kieran Trippier is NOT suspended for tonight's trip to Arsenal - but will miss next weekend's clash with Fulham if he's booked at the Emirates.
The right-back picked up his fourth caution of the season in our 0-0 draw with Leeds on New Year's Eve, leaving him and Fabian Schar one yellow card away from a one-game ban.
Should either go into the referees book tonight, they'll miss our next Premier League game (Fulham at home on Sunday 15th January).
If both escape a yellow this evening, our clash with the Cottagers is the final game they'd be at risk, being the 19th match of the season - the cut-off point for players approaching five cautions.
Elsewhere, the likes of Bruno Guimaraes, Dan Burn, Nick Pope, Jamaal Lascelles and Sean Longstaff are all on two bookings for the season, making them safe from suspension with two games remaining:
- 5 – Joelinton
- 4 – Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar
- 2 – Bruno Guimaraes, Dan Burn, Nick Pope, Jamaal Lascelles, Sean Longstaff
