Wilson starts and recalled Mag back in the squad - Official Newcastle team vs Arsenal
The teams sheets are out ahead of tonight’s 7.45pm kick off at the Emirates, which sees us take on Arsenal in our first game of 2023.
Without further ado, here’s the side Eddie Howe has gone with against Mike Arteta's in-form Gunners:
STARTING XI: Pope - Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn - Guimaraes, Longstaff, Willock - Almiron, Wilson, Joelinton.
SUBS: Dubravka, Lascelles, Saint-Maximin, Ritchie, Lewis, Manquillo, Wood, Murphy, Anderson.
One change from last week's 0-0 draw with Leeds, as the boss has brought Callum Wilson back into his side at Chris Wood's expense.
Allan Saint-Maximin remains on the bench despite calls for him to start, while returning loanee Martin Dubravka is also in the squad after his recall from Manchester United.
Jamal Lewis is also on the bench following a heel injury to Matt Targett, but there's no Alexander Isak; who's being tipped to feature in the FA Cup on Saturday after returning to training this week.
Here's the side Arsenal have gone for, seeing Arteta name an unchanged side from their 4-2 win at Brighton over the weekend.
Arsenal XI: Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko, Xhaka, Partey, Saka, Odegaard, Martinelli, Nketiah.
SUBS: Turner, Tierney, Holding, Tomiyasu, Vieira, Lokonga, Elneny, Marquinhos, Butler-Oyedeji.
HOWAY THE LADS!
