Amazon deal confirmed as Newcastle United take part in exciting TV series - Sky Sports
In the last few moments, Sky Sports' Keith Downie has revealed that Amazon are in the process of filming a four-part documentary at Newcastle United.
The series will follow the club's Carabao Cup run as we did to end our trophy drought and Eddie Howe's push towards the top four.
With this our first full season under new owners, this promises to be a thrilling watch for Newcastle United fans, replicating the popular 'All or Nothing' documentaries we've seen at Man City, Spurs and Arsenal in recent years.
More details on when the series will be released should come out in due course, but this helps explains the number of cameras we've seen during our mid-season camp in Saudi Arabia and inside the dressing room after last week's semi-final win at St James' Park.
Here's what Eddie Howe had to say back in August when asked about the Amazon rumours:
“You’ve set me up here! (asking about Amazon rumours)
“I don’t know, it is a difficult one. Traditionally, everything that goes on behind the scenes has been private.
“Now that seems to be changing with the various documentaries we’ve had, not just in football but in other sports, so we’re opening the door slightly to the day-to-day running of things.
“My thoughts would be to keep things away from the media spotlight because I think we’re in the spotlight enough and you want your work with the players to be on a one-to-one basis.
“But, with the way the game is going, we have to be adaptable.”
