”Absolute machine!” - Newcastle United star reveals toughest teammate to face in training

In an interview with Rio Ferdinand on Vibe With Five, Kieran Trippier has revealed that Joelinton is the toughest player he has faced in training at Newcastle. 

This will come as no real surprise to those who watch the Brazilian week in week out - his physical presence in midfield has been a huge factor in our recent success under Eddie Howe.

Trippier has played his fair share of quality players throughout his career, but the England international described his teammate as ‘unbelievable’ and an ‘absolute machine’. 

To receive the highest of praise from someone as accomplished as Trippier is a testament to the hard work Joelinton has put in in the last 12 months, particularly after being ridiculed in his first two seasons on Tyneside. 

As mentioned by the 32-year-old, our Brazilian star certainly has a bright future ahead of him and hopefully still a long way to go in a black and white shirt.
