Italian media claim Newcastle are considering summer move for Juventus star

According to Italian outlet CalcioMercatoWeb, Newcastle are considering a move for Juventus Manuel Locatelli. 

The Magpies are known to be in the market for a new midfielder, particularly after losing Jonjo Shelvey in January, and it's thought the 25-year-old is the latest player on our radar.

Locatelli is still technically on loan at the Turin club, but the Serie A giants have an obligation to buy for £22m at the end of the season.

It remains to be seen if anything will come of this latest transfer rumour, but the Italian international does tick a few boxes as a deep-lying No 6 who could allow star man Bruno Guimaraes to push forwards and utilise his attacking flair. 

Arsenal have also been linked with the former Sassuolo man, who is one of several key players who may be made available this summer due to the financial mess Juventus have found themselves in.
