VAR miss incident that would've ruled another Man Utd star out of Newcastle clash - Lucky escape?
Manchester United fans can count themselves very fortunate that Lisandro Martinez isn't suspended for the Carabao Cup final later this month.
During Wednesday's 2-2 draw with Leeds, the Argentinian was seen scrapping his studs down Patrick Bamford's face.
However, it's believed that VAR didn't even check the off-the-ball incident, seeing their star centre-back escape what could've easily been a three-game ban.
Watch the incident below, with this coming just a few days after a Casemiro red card that will see him return just in time for our showdown at Wembley on February 26th:
Following a late tackle from ex-Mag Andy Carroll last month, midfielder maestro Christian Eriksen has already been ruled out of the final.
Thankfully for us, Bruno Guimaraes' first game back from a three-match ban will come when the two sides meet at Wembley, but it feels like Man Utd have got away with one here.
Either way, we'll fancy our chances, especially when the Red Devils have four games to play - including a Europa League double header against Barcelona - between now and February 26th.
