Ashworth eyeing box-office signing to complement Bruno and 4 Mags to be moved on - Report

According to Football Insider, Newcastle are laying the groundwork to bring in a 'box-office' signing to play alongside Bruno Guimaraes.

They report that 'huge' funds have been made available to bring in a quality midfielder this summer after the club opted against bringing in a late alternative last month.

Dan Ashworth is believed to be 'scouring the market' alongside our recruitment team to find the ideal number six to compliment the all action Brazilian, with the report also claiming that Jamaal Lascelles, Ryan Fraser, Jamal Lewis and Matt Ritchie will all be made available this summer.

The four senior players have appeared collectively just 15 times in the Premier League so far this season and do not look to be in Eddie Howe’s long-term plans.

After some big spending in the first 12 months since the takeover, we are fairly restricted due to FFP limitations, so it makes sense to raise some funds and create space within our ever-increasing wage bill.
