Richard Keys reacts to Newcastle’s kit reveal & names team he wants to win Carabao Cup final

Richard Keys is hoping to see Newcastle United to beat Man United in the Carabao Cup final - also approving the decision to wear our traditional home strip in the game, not our controversial white and green shirt.

The 65-year-old has been fairly open about his feelings towards the Saudi-backed takeover of Newcastle and has taken every opportunity to criticise and condemn our owners.

The former Sky Sports presenter has often clashed with Newcastle supporters, particularly with his approval of Mike Ashley, but will be supporting the Magpies on the 26th February.

Keys was fairly critical of our decision to wear our third kit - or what he referred to as the 'Saudi national kit' - when we faced the Red Devils at Old Trafford.

However, he is massively in support of the decision to revert back to our traditional black and white stripes for Wembley and added that he 'hopes' we win as we are 'long overdue'.

"I was delighted to read today that Newcastle will wear their famous black-and-white stripes at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final,” Keys wrote in his personal blog. “Good decision. Do you remember they changed into their Saudi national kit for the game at Old Trafford?

"I know why teams do it - especially Newcastle - but there's nothing like watching your team play in their proper kit on big days out. So black and white stripes it is. And I have to admit I hope they win it. They're long overdue."
