Jamaal Lascelles looks set for Toon exit after eight years on Tyneside - Report
As reported by the Northern Echo, Toon captain Jamaal Lascelles looks set to leave Tyneside in the summer with Nottingham Forest and Wolves both showing interest.
The 29-year-old, who was a key part of our promotion season, joined from Forest back in 2014 and grew up in the area, so a move back to his boyhood club would certainly make sense.
Lascelles has rarely featured this season, making just four appearances in the league - his one start was our only defeat against Liverpool back in August - and will be looking to secure first team football.
This would be potentially the third deal that Forest do with the Magpies in 2023 after fellow Magpies Chris Wood and Jonjo Shelvey both joined the side in January.
The defender’s departure is expected to be part of a big clear out in the summer with other senior members such as Matt Ritchie, Jamal Lewis and Ryan Fraser set to leave the club.
