Aston Villa join race to sign £30m Newcastle target high on Howe's wishlist - Report
According to Football Insider, Aston Villa have joined Newcastle in the race for Kieran Tierney, who is expected to leave Arsenal for around £30m this summer.
It's believed Newcastle have prioritised a move for an attacking left-back, with the Scotsman thought to be one of our leading targets following long-term interest from Eddie Howe; who tried to sign him for Bournemouth several years ago.
However, it seems Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is also keen on the defender, despite the £12m arrival of Alex Moreno back in January.
It's fair to say we already boast a more exciting and ambitious project than the one on offer at Villa Park, but securing European football could be key should the two clubs go head to head this summer.
Elsewhere, 90min report that West Ham are also admirers of Tierney, who won't come cheap. Arsenal signed the 26-year-old for £25m back in 2019 and appear to want their money back and more for the former Celtic star.
He's struggled with injuries since arriving at the Emirates but has largely been fit this season, only to lose his place to Oleksandr Zinchenko.
