The new-look side Eddie Howe is being urged to start against Wolves on Sunday

I can't speak for everyone, but there's a certain Newcastle United XI fans on social media have been pushing ahead of this weekend's clash with Wolves.

It features a new-look front three, one change at the back, Joe Willock in midfield and looks something like this:

(4-3-3): Pope - Trippier, Schar, Botman, Targett - Longstaff, Bruno, Willock - Gordon, Isak, Saint-Maximin.

Five changes: Lascelles, Burn, Joelinton (suspended), Almiron and Wilson out, for Schar, Targett, Willock, Saint-Maximin and Isak.

While Eddie Howe may resist wholesale changes after we created enough chances to take something away from the Etihad last weekend, our issues in front of goal are starting to cost us. We've won once in our last eight league games, scoring just three times in the process.

Wilson looks a shadow of the player who fired us to third before the World Cup and may need a rest alongside an similarly jaded Miggy Almiron. Even if both are fine physically, it's fair to say Isak and Saint-Maximin have looked far more threatening of late and deserve a chance to start together from the off.

A fit-again Matt Targett also comes into contention to replace Burn; who has slowed down our attacks in recent weeks and struggled to get anything going with the left winger ahead of him. Targett is no marauding full-back, but his ability to push up and deliver crosses into the box could vary up an attack in danger of becoming too one-dimensional; especially when Trippier and Almiron's link-up down the right has been nullified in recent weeks.
