Club announce St James' Park changes for 2023/24 - Wor Flags react as safe standing is confirmed

Earlier today, Newcastle United announced that safe standing will be introduced at St. James' Park 'as part of an initial trial period' at the start of the 2023/24 season.

The standing section will be in the South East corner of the Gallowgate end, creating space for around 1,800 supporters, covering the lower section of block B and the upper sections of blocks C, D, E and F.

As confirmed in a club statement, away supporters in Level 7 of the Leazes End will also have access to a similar provision next season after an online survey and supporter consultation led to a unanimous vote of confidence.

Wor Flags have reacted to the news, saying 'this is something we have been chasing for some time', praising Newcastle United for securing this standing section ahead of 2023/24.
