Simon Jordan accepts defeat - Hits nail on the head on Howe, Bruno & key to Newcastle's rise

Simon Jordan questioned Newcastle's decision to appoint Eddie Howe 18 months ago and more recently questioned if our pursuit of a top-four finish was beginning to falter.

However, he's now accepted he was wrong about the Toon boss in a pretty accurate assessment of our recent form; and those inspiring our push towards Champions League football.

He believes Howe has proven to be a 'far better manager' than he realised based on his ability to 'ride the wave', develop players through coaching, make big decisions and direct us towards a positive future.

Jordan also nails it on Bruno Guimaraes. He previously felt we were over-reliant on the Brazilian maestro, but feels the constant improvement in those around him means he is no longer standing out as he once did. This isn't a reflection of Bruno's form - he's been outstanding in our last two matches - but more proof that the likes of Longstaff, Willock and Murphy have taken their game to new levels to keep pace.

For me, this has been key to our rise and consistent performances. Yes, new signings like Pope, Trippier, Botman, Bruno and Isak have played huge roles and added star quality, but the improvement we've seen from Schar, Longstaff, Willock, Almiron and Murphy has been massive.
