Newcastle United have released highlights from the U21s seven-goal thriller with Norwich on Monday, featuring an impressive finish from Harrison Ashby.

The 21-year-old sealed a £3m move from West Ham in January, but has been managing a hamstring injury since then and is yet to feature at first-team level.

However, he made his first appearance for the club in the U21s clash with Norwich at our Little Benton Academy on Monday, starting alongside banished winger Ryan Fraser.

Ashby impressed in a 4-3 win for the Toon, bagging an assist for Fraser's opener before rifling a 20-yard effort of his own into the bottom corner. Watch the clip of his lovely finish below, via NUFC TV:

As for Ashby, it'll be interesting to see how he gets on over pre-season, giving him the chance to show what he's capable of at senior level.

He's been tipped to become Kieran Trippier's long-term replacement, being known for his technical ability, quality from set pieces and tenacious style of play - although they will be big shoes to fill once the England international hangs up his boots.
