Newcastle 'very close' to signing €5m winger - Report

According to reports in Denmark, Newcastle United are closing in on the signing of 18-year-old sensation Yankuba Minteh.

This comes from Danish outlet Sport Fyn, who claim that the Gambian winger is 'very close' to sealing a dream move to St James' Park this summer.

It's believed a deal worth just over €5m is on course to be agreed, with one last hurdle left to overcome. Due to Brexit, it's no longer straightforward for African players outside of Europe's top five leagues to seal a move to the Premier League, meaning a solution must be found.

Minteh currently plays for Superligaen side Odense BK and has made an immediate impact in his first full season in the Danish top flight, bagging two goals and six assists in 12 appearances for the club.

Like Garang Kuol, you'd expect the teenager to be one for the future and someone who could go back out on loan should he seal a summer move to St James' Park.
