Saudi PIF spotted at two games as Newcastle United owners line up £10m takeover - Report

by Andrew Reynolds ·

As revealed by The Athletic, a delegation from Saudi PIF have been spotted watching a KV Oostende game last Saturday ahead of a possible £10m takeover.

Similar to the project at Man City, our owners are looking to begin a multi-club network and are in discussions with several clubs across Europe to find the perfect starting point to expand.

Oostende have been suggested to be that very club, although they have recently been relegated to the second division in Belgium and are now available for around £10m.

Fellow Premier League team Wolves and one other English club have also enquired about the availability of Oostende as they look to rival the PIF in bidding for the club.

The report states that the same group were also seen watching Standard Liege beat Charleroi on Friday, so it is still unclear as to where they are looking to invest their money.

Either way, it's clear our owners are forward-thinking and eager to improve the club's network; which may not only benefit future loan moves but grow the Newcastle brand overseas.
