Early team news from Howe - Several late fitness tests, Bruno update & one ruled out of Everton

by Olly Hawkins ·

Eddie Howe has been speaking to the press in the last few moments, offering an injury update ahead of tomorrow's trip to Everton.

Fabian Schar is struggling after limping off in Sunday's 6-1 win over Spurs, being one of several who we'll make a 'late call' on. Howe wouldn't name the other players carrying knocks, so only time will tell who is able to feature at Goodison Park, with Jamaal Lascelles on standby.

The good news is that Bruno Guimaraes 'will be ok', despite aggravating his ankle injury over the weekend. It's an ongoing concern, but he's been passed fit for this one.

One player who definitely won't feature is Allan Saint-Maximin. The winger has returned from France and 'working hard' back at the training ground, however Thursday night's game will come too soon for the 26-year-old.

Here's what Howe had to say when asked for an injury update this morning:

"We've got a couple of knocks.

"Bruno we think will be OK - no problems. He aggravated it (his ankle) again on Sunday but is speaking to the medical team.

"Fabian Schär is one we'll have to check and make a late call on and it's a similar situation with a couple of the other lads."

"He (Saint-Maximin) is back and working hard to get fully fit. We're pleased to have him back. It's too early (for Everton)."
