Dan Ashworth and Toon scout spotted watching two Championship talents - Report
According to The Mail's Craig Hope, both Dan Ashworth and senior scout Mick Tait have been keeping a close eye on Blackburn duo Adam Wharton and Hayden Carter.
Wharton, who is an 18-year-old midfielder, has already amassed 22 first-team appearances for the club and is attracting interest from some of the top clubs in England.
Blackburn are adamant that they will not let their youngster go and believe it is in his best interests to stay at his boyhood club and develop whilst playing regular first-team football.
The hot prospect is being followed by Arsenal, Leicester, Tottenham, West Ham and Newcastle and has received high praise after being labelled as a 'taller Jack Wilshere'.
We have also been keeping tabs on centre-back Carter who has enjoyed a breakthrough season for the Championship side after a couple of loan spells in League One.
However, Carter - who scored a late equaliser against high-flying Luton - has only recently signed a new four-year deal with the club, protecting his value ahead of the summer window.
