Joelinton argument put forward by TalkSPORT pundit - Nail on the head?
TalkSPORT pundit Tony Cascarino believes Joelinton should be named Newcastle's player of the season after the Brazilian's all-action displays under Eddie Howe.
The former Irish international is clearly a huge fan of our number seven, claiming he has 'stood out in every way' - driving us forward, defending corners, covering every blade of grass and adding goals to his game.
Joelinton has been a completely different animal since Eddie Howe's arrival, going from a £40m flop to a versatile midfielder able to operate as a No 6, No 8 or left-sided winger.
Not only has the 26-year-old been integral to our attack, his incredible work rate and physicality to win the ball back has been key in maintaining the best defence in the Premier League. Cascarino feels he embodies everything Eddie Howe's team tries to be, feeling our form is reflects the huge effort he puts in at both ends of the pitch.
When playing in a team with the likes of Bruno Guimaraes and Alexander Isak, Joelinton will often go under the radar, but it is great to see him getting the recognition he deserves.
