Watch angry Leeds fan confront Eddie Howe - Toon boss asks "what if" after worrying incident
In the latter stages of today's 2-2 draw at Elland Road, Eddie Howe was pushed by a Leeds fan who was somehow allowed into the technical area.
He was eventually dragged away by security, but it's a huge concern that an angry pitch invader - who'll receive a hefty ban I'm sure - was able to get that close after going past stewards.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, Howe was unable to repeat what the fan shouted at him before the push, but wonders 'what if'. What if that happens again and the fan involved is armed or out to cause harm? It's a real worry that he was able to get that close.
Howe feels this breach if security is a concern that must be dealt with, saying no one should have their own personal safety violated in the middle of a football match.
Here's the incident itself, followed by what Howe's thoughts on the incident and assessment of the game:
“I can’t repeat what he said but it makes you think ‘what if’. Nobody should have to feel their personal safety is violated when trying to entertain the country.”
"No-one should have to face that, to feel your own personal safety violated.
"Security is paramount. We have to be mindful"
