TalkSPORT: Newcastle could sign TWO players from relegation-threatened club

According to talkSPORT, Newcastle are eyeing up summer moves for Leicester City duo Harvey Barnes and James Maddison.

The East Midlands side currently look destined for relegation to the Championship - they could be down if they lose at St James' Park on Monday - meaning a lot of their star players could be set for end-of-season exits.

Sporting director Dan Ashworth was spotted watching over the Foxes 3-0 defeat at home to Liverpool last week and is thought to be a big fan of Barnes. Perhaps he was there to watch both?

Maddison has also been a key target since last summer and it looks like he could be top of Eddie Howe's list of priorities heading into the next window.

They wouldn't come cheap - even if relegated - but the English duo could be smart additions as we begin to prepare for a European campaign and a much more congested fixture list in 2023/24.
