Howe commits future to Newcastle ahead of Chelsea trip - A superb message to owners & fans

Eddie Howe has committed his 'long-term' future to Newcastle United, insisting his head would not be turned by any other offers.

After keeping us up in style, recruiting brilliantly over the summer, galvanizing the fanbase and guiding us to a top-four finish this season, it seems the boss is only just getting started at St James' Park.

His message was clear ahead of today's final game - I am here to stay, focused on nothing but Newcastle and will stick around as long as owners and fans want me.

Howe sounds like a man settled in the area and determined to bring success back to Tyneside, admitting that he's "hugely excited" about next season and our future beyond that.

Asked if his long-term future is on Tyneside - even if big offers come his way - the boss had this to say in Friday's press conference:

"Very much so. My long-term future is very much here.

"There is no other thought in my mind. For as long as I’m wanted, Newcastle is where I want to be.

"I’m hugely excited about next season and hopefully beyond"
