Newcastle now in talks to sign highly-rated England talent - Fabrizio Romano

Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Newcastle are 'in talks' to sign 16-year-old Wolves defender Leo Shahar as we continue our search for young talent.

The defender, who only turned 16 in March, has been tipped as a potential star for the future and it seems he's the latest talent on Dan Ashworth's radar.

Shahar has represented England for both the Under-15s and Under-16s and looks to have a bright future ahead of him given the right environment and coaching.

There has been a lot of emphasis placed on youth development since the takeover and this is yet another example of how serious we are about developing our academy.

Shahar, who is predominantly a right-back, would follow the likes of Kuol and Minteh as exciting prospects and it's certainly a sign of good things to come for the long-term future of Newcastle.
