Newcastle talent pictured in incredible shape ahead of pre-season training - Photo

Ahead of what promises to be a huge season for him, Elliot Anderson has been pictured on social media in incredible shape as he prepares for pre-season training later this summer.

The 20-year-old featured intermittently throughout the 2022/23 season. He was very promising in spells and should have had a first ever Premier League goal when his header against Nottingham Forest was harshly ruled out.

With big name signings being linked to the club every week, Anderson will no doubt be keen to prove his worth to Eddie Howe and try and force his way into the starting 11. If his latest gym photo is anything to go by, he's clearly been working hard on his fitness and physique ahead of our return to training next month.

It will be a difficult task to force his way into our XI, but his ability to play wide, as a No 8 or No 10 will appeal to Howe heading into what promises to be a hectic season.

There will also plenty of games for him to impress in with Champions League now in the mix so rotation will be key.

Over the years we've not had too many academy graduates to get excited about, so it would be great to see the Whitley Bay native really kick on and excel next season.
