Sky Italy's Gianluca Di Marzio has confirmed that Newcastle United are on the verge of signing Sandro Tonali.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, the Italian reveals that a deal worth an initial €70m will be finalised if we agree to pay a further €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons for the AC Milan midfielder. It seems like it's a matter of time until he signs, however, as Di Marzio states "he is going to Newcastle."

He also reports that the 23-year-old has accepted our offer of a six-year contract that will see him earn €8m-per-year plus €2m in bonuses, suggesting everything is done on the players side.

It was reported last night that the final hurdle centred around the structure of the deal and potential add-ons included, so it seems the finer details are now being discussed following Dan Ashworth's arrival in Milan to finalise the move.
