Tonali gets Toon fans excited with quality assist in Italy's Euro U21 clash vs France - Video
Toon-bound midfielder Sandro Tonali hasn't taken long to impress Newcastle fans.
The 23-year-old started, as captain, in Italy's opening game of the U21 European Championships against France and delivered a pinpoint assist to draw his country level.
After Arnaud Kalimuendo gave France the lead with a stunning flick, Tonali delivered a perfect set piece delivery from the right that was headed home by former Milan teammate Pietro Pellegri.
This wasn't the first quality cross he put into the box, as his quality from set pieces and corners was evident throughout, with every ball on the money in the first half.
Watch his assist below, which comes just a few hours after Anthony Gordon set up Jacob Ramsay in England U21s 2-0 win over Czech Republic:
Interestingly, Tonali has operated on the right side of Italy's midfield three, playing in quite an advanced role that has seen him make runs just behind the two strikers.
This highlights his impressive versatility and box-to-box ability, as he's often played on the left side of a three for AC Milan and is expected to operate as a No 6 for Newcastle.
