Newcastle eyeing two other relegated players alongside Leicester's Harvey Barnes - Report
According to Mark Douglas at the ipaper, Leicester's Harvey Barnes isn't the only relegated player on Newcastle's radar, with Eddie Howe also keen on Tyler Adams of Leeds and Southampton's Tino Livramento.
The report states that Howe has a 'real admiration' for all three, with the club expected to pursue smart signings - whether that be staggered payment permanent deals or loans - after sealing a big money move for Sandro Tonali.
Douglas reports that we remain in talks with Southampton over Livramento, but are 'yet to reach an agreement on a fee', with the Saints said to be demanding north of £30m for the highly-rated 20-year-old.
As for Tyler Adams, the tough-tackling Leeds midfielder could be a cut-price option able to add some depth and steel to our engine room. We lack a natural No 6 and he proved to be no pushover during Leeds' trip to Tyneside last season, performing superbly and standing up to the challenge in their 0-0 draw in January.
Links with Barnes have grown over the past week, with The Telegraph claiming that we are closing in on a deal for the 25-year-old; who is believed to be keen on a move after verbally accepting personal terms.
Newcastle may have another marquee signing up their sleeve this summer, but pursuing one or two relegated gems may be a smart move if the price is right.
