New photos from SJP - Wor Flags share safe standing update & fan spots Leazes End changes

Wor Flags have posted a couple of photos of St James' Park updating fans on the new safe standing section that is almost complete in the Strawberry Corner.

Elsewhere, a picture from a stadium tour has shown a host of seats in the Leazes End removed; allegedly to make way for the letters 'NUFC' in that area of the ground.

Back to safe standing, it has been successfully introduced in stadiums up and down the country and the Magpies are looking to join in with a standing section of our own.

It was announced back in March that the club would be allowed to introduce it for a section of around 1,800 seats as part of a trial period for the 2023/24 season.

Photos soon emerged of seats being removed from the corner in the following months and it now looks as though the transformation is almost finished as we see both new seats and rails have been fitted in.

It will certainly be exciting to see the impact that this will have on the atmosphere for games not only in the Premier League but also the returning European nights. See photos below of the safe standing section, followed by pictures of seats removed in the Leazes:
