Newcastle offered bargain deal after free agent sees AC Milan move fall through - Report

by Olly Hawkins ·

According to new reports, Newcastle have been handed a second chance to sign Daichi Kamada after AC Milan pulled the plug on a deal for the former Frankfurt star.

This comes from 90min, who claim Newcastle have been offered the chance to sign the free agent midfielder now his move to the San Siro has fell through.

It's believed Inter Milan, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and Spurs have also been sounded out as potential alternatives for the Japanese international.

Kamada, 26, bagged 16 goals and seven assists in all competitions over the 2022/23 season and showed his versatility throughout, operating in central midfield, as a No 10 and on the left wing. He scored three times in eight Champions League appearances last term and bagged five in 13 Europa League outings the season before, where they went on to beat Rangers in the final.

It may be that we've moved on to other deals, but we've been linked with the former Bundesliga star in the past and will be in the market for bargain buys, with funds likely to be tight if a £55m move for Sandro Tonali is followed by a £35m deal for Harvey Barnes.
