Swansea set to launch bid for Newcastle United talent?
According to Tom Coleman at WalesOnline, Swansea are weighing up a move for Newcastle United talent Harrison Ashby.
He reports that the 21-year-old is "very much on the radar" of the Championship club, suggesting a loan bid could be in the offing.
Ashby sealed a £3m move from West Ham back in January and has been compared to Kieran Trippier for his set-piece quality and ability to create from open play.
However, he's one for the future and spent the final weeks of the 2022/23 season playing for our U21s, meaning a loan move to the second tier could be an ideal next step for his development.
The Scotland U21 international put in a solid display in the second half of Saturday's 3-2 win over Gateshead; our first friendly of the summer and his senior debut in a Newcastle United shirt.
If we move on Javier Manquillo and manage to sign Southampton's Tino Livramento, a stint with Swansea could be a wise move for all parties.
