Newcastle set to increase offer by £10m in bid to secure Howe's top defensive target - Report
As reported by Football Insider, Newcastle are ready to increase their offer for Southampton’s Valentino Livramento by a further £10m.
After having a bid of £15m rejected by the recently relegated club, it's thought we're ready to pay around £25m for the England U21 talent following fresh talks.
Livramento is viewed as a ‘top target’ for Eddie Howe as we continue our search for a quality backup option for Kieran’s Tripper, with Krafth still injured and Manquillo expected to leave.
Harrison Ashby, who was signed as a backup from West Ham for around £3m, is likely to leave on loan to gain some first-team experience. He scored the winner in last night's 2-1 victory at Rangers and has received interest from Swansea.
As for the former Chelsea youngster, he has only just recovered from a very serious ACL injury but would be a smart signing for us if he can return to his impressive form on the south coast.
